Nina Nodilo was born in Dubrovnik in 1998. She attended primary school in Orašac and a classical gymnasium in Dubrovnik. In 2016, she enrolled in phonetics and Croatian studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. At the Department of Phonetics, she worked as a demonstrator in the courses Articulatory Phonetics, Acoustic Phonetics, and Phonetic Transcription. During her student days, she was also an active member of the Phonetics Students’ Club “Eufonija.”

She graduated in 2023, and with the thesis “Tongue Pivoting in Croatian Cochlear Implant Users,” which was published in the journal “Govor” in 2024 in co-authorship with Professor Marko Liker, PhD, she participated in the project “Coarticulation in Croatian Speech: Instrumental Research.”

After working as a media phonetician at HRT for a year, she continued her phonetics trajectory at the Department of Phonetics, taking a job as an assistant in July 2025.

She participates in teaching Acoustic Phonetics and Speech Development (Phonetics), and Coarticulation in Speech Development and Atypical Speech (Clinical Linguistics and Phonetics).

In June 2022, 2024, and 2026, she presented her research “Describing Voice in the Croatian Language”, “Acoustic-Perceptual Comparison of the Croatian Standard Jate and Sequence [is]”, and “Speech Rest Position – Where to Look for Articulatory Settings in Croatian Speech?” at the international scientific conferences of the HDPL. In December 2025, she participated in the organization of the panel “Optimization of Tongue Movement in Speech: Data and Possible Application in Phonetic Practice” at the scientific conference Speech Research. She is currently mainly interested in speech kinematics.
